OCHA calls for the protection of medical facilities in Sudan

11 June 2024 (PEN) The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has stressed that under international humanitarian law, medical facilities, staff and equipment must be protected from attacks, looting and other forms of violence. The wounded and sick must also be protected and receive the care they need.

This came after the Rapid Support Forces attacked the South Hospital in El Fasher on Saturday, where they opened fire and looted it, including stealing an ambulance belonging to Doctors Without Borders, according to the organization.
