Widespread Arab and Islamic condemnation of the attack on a mosque in El Fasher.

September 21, 2025 (PEN) - The Arab world has witnessed a wave of condemnation of the horrific attack that targeted the Al-Daraja neighborhood mosque in El Fasher during dawn prayers last Friday. The attack resulted in dozens of casualties, including dead and wounded, according to the Sudan Doctors Network, which accused the Rapid Support Forces of being responsible for the drone attack.

The State of Qatar strongly condemned the attack, expressing its condolences to the Sudanese people. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emphasized that targeting places of worship and civilians constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, calling for an immediate cessation of the war and the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration on the Protection of Civilians.

The UAE also expressed its categorical rejection of the attack, affirming its commitment to supporting regional and international efforts to bring peace to Sudan. Kuwait, meanwhile, strongly condemned the attack, calling for a ceasefire and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.

In the same context, Egypt condemned the attack, considering it a blatant violation of international law, and affirmed its solidarity with the Sudanese people.

Meanwhile, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit stressed the need to lift the siege of El Fasher and cease hostilities, revealing consultations with the United Nations and the African Union to resume the Sudanese talks.

The Muslim World League also condemned the attack, considering it a flagrant violation of international laws and norms, and reiterated its full solidarity with Sudan and its people.
