Sudanese Congress: The Gulf Summit's position is clear regarding efforts to achieve peace.

December 4, 2025 (PEN) The head of the Sudanese Congress Party, Omar Youssef Al-Daqeer, expressed his appreciation on Wednesday for the clear stance adopted by the 46th Gulf Summit in Bahrain regarding the Sudanese crisis, describing it as "a clarity that deserves to be welcomed."

Al-Daqeer said that the summit’s final statement affirmed support for efforts to achieve peace in Sudan, noting that it acknowledged regional and international interest in finding a solution to the conflict, including the efforts of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the willingness of US President Donald Trump to work with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and other partners to end the war, in addition to welcoming the statement issued by the Quartet last September.

The party leader emphasized that the statement's contents serve as a reminder that the key to resolving the crisis remains in the hands of the Sudanese people themselves, stressing that the path to a solution begins with a genuine national will to end the war. He noted that the current moment places a heavy responsibility on all Sudanese citizens.

The 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit was held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, with the participation of leaders and heads of delegations from member states, to discuss the most prominent regional security issues and political and economic challenges.

The summit was held in a complex regional context characterized by escalating conflicts in the Middle East, growing security threats, and an increasing need to coordinate Gulf positions on pressing issues, most notably the war in Sudan, the situation in Yemen, and the nature of relations with international powers.
