The United States affirms that there is no military solution to the conflict in Sudan.

July 20, 2025 (PEN) U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for African Affairs Massad Boulos affirmed that "there is no military solution to this conflict. Rather, a peaceful solution must be reached." He noted that the United States, with the support of President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, is playing an important role in cooperation with its brothers and partners in the Sudan Quartet, which includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt, in addition to the United States.

In a statement to Al Jazeera, Boulos added that Washington expects "positive developments on this path soon," praising the initiatives led by Saudi Arabia, most notably the Jeddah Forum, along with other initiatives he described as valuable, stressing that his country is fully cooperating with them.

The US envoy also welcomed the initiatives proposed by the State of Qatar, expressing his hope that all these efforts would lead to a peaceful solution to the conflict in Sudan soon.
