The Pope of the Vatican appeals to end the war in Sudan and receive refugees

June 2, 2024 (PEN) Today, Sunday, the Pope of the Vatican, Pope Francis, called on everyone to pray for Sudan, which has been suffering as a result of an ongoing war for more than a year. The Pope stated that the time has come to silence the voice of arms and ensure that aid reaches the population and the large numbers of displaced people, with a commitment by local authorities and the international community.

Pope Francis added that Sudanese refugees must receive reception and protection in neighboring countries, stressing the importance of international solidarity in these difficult times.
