The Fund stated in a post on Facebook that the state includes 1.52 million women and girls of reproductive age, adding that the ongoing conflict hinders the work of medical teams in providing life-saving services.

He called on the United Nations Population Fund to allow the safe passage of supplies and medical teams immediately.

In Jazira State, there has been an ongoing clash since December 15 between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, which has led to the displacement of thousands and exacerbated the humanitarian crisis.
