The emergency room launches a danger call: The humanitarian situation is worsening in Bahri due to the cessation of kitchens

February 20, 2024 (PEN) The Bahri Emergency Room announced that all collective kitchens operating in the city of Bahri had stopped working due to the interruption of communications services, which led to the inability of volunteers to continue to keep the collective kitchens operating.

The Chamber warned of the effects resulting from the cessation, as it stated that the cessation threatens hundreds of thousands of civilians trapped as a result of the war in the city, explaining that most of them are children, women, and the elderly, stressing that hunger has led to multiple deaths among citizens in the national capital.

The emergency room sounded the alarm, calling on international organizations, the Red Cross and humanitarian organizations to pay attention to the seriousness of the situation in the city of Bahri, and to intervene urgently to provide humanitarian aid to those trapped in the city.

It also called for work to protect civilians and to put pressure on both parties to the conflict to keep the communications sector out of their scope of war.
