UNHCR: 13 million Sudanese displaced by more than two years of conflict and destruction

May 5, 2025 (PEN) The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has stated that more than 13 million people in Sudan have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing bloody conflict for more than two years, including 4 million people who have crossed borders into neighboring countries in search of safety.

In a tweet on its official X account, the commission noted that the war has caused widespread destruction and unimaginable losses, in addition to gross human rights violations.

The Commission warned of the danger of the international community ignoring this crisis, stressing that the Sudanese people are in dire need of peace.
