US Ambassador to the United Nations: Next week I will travel to Chad to see the impact of the senseless conflict in Sudan

2 Sept 2023 (PEN) Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield said in a tweet on X that during the U.S. presidency of the Security Council, the first open briefing on Sudan since the beginning of the conflict was held.

They will continue to highlight atrocities being committed, particularly in Darfur. The international 

community must stand on the right side of history.
"Next week, I will travel to Chad to see the impact of the senseless conflict in Sudan," the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said, adding, "We have a responsibility to highlight the atrocities that are being committed, especially in Darfur, and to support people in need of humanitarian assistance."

The ongoing war in Sudan has led to the displacement of 4.6 million internally and externally and the death of thousands of civilians.
