The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns the attacks on Port Sudan and Kassala.

May 5, 2025 (PEN) The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attacks on vital facilities and infrastructure in the cities of Port Sudan and Kassala.

The organization stated that these attacks constitute a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and pose a threat to the security and stability of the region.

The organization affirmed its complete rejection of these violations, calling for the implementation of obligations related to the protection of civilians, as stipulated in the Jeddah Declaration of May 11, 2023.

The General Secretariat also stressed the importance of an immediate end to the war and working toward a comprehensive peace settlement led by the Sudanese themselves, one that preserves Sudan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Secretariat considered this settlement the only way to end the crisis, alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people, and achieve their aspirations for security, peace, and stability.
