The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate warns of threats to radio and television buildings

February 10, 2024 (PEN) The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate confirmed that it had received reports indicating that fighting between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces was approaching the radio and television buildings.

The union explained that identical testimonies showed that the Rapid Support Forces had, months ago, converted the radio and television buildings into detention centers, threatening to destroy and damage the radio and television archives, which are nearly a hundred years old.

The Journalists Syndicate sounded the alarm to warn of the potential dangers threatening the heritage, calling on UNESCO and all organizations working in the field of heritage preservation to intervene to protect the radio and television libraries that contain the Sudanese heritage, calling on the organizations to intervene with the two warring parties to save the heritage and protect it from loss based on their responsibilities.
