The Estádio da Luz in Lisbon witnessed a dramatic night for Real Madrid fans, after the Royal team lost to Benfica 4-2 in a thrilling Champions League match.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 30th minute, assisted by Marco Asensio, before Andreas Schjelderup equalized for Benfica in the 38th minute.

Then Pavelides added the second goal from a penalty kick before the end of the first half, so the Portuguese won the first half 2-1.

At the start of the second half, Schjelderup extended Benfica's lead with a third goal in the 53rd minute, while Mbappé narrowed the gap for Real Madrid with a second goal in the 58th minute after a decisive pass from Güler. But things went from bad to worse for the Royal Club, after Asensio received a second red card in the 92nd minute, followed by Rodrygo with a red card in the 94th minute, increasing the pressure on the Real Madrid players.

Before the final whistle, goalkeeper Trubin scored Benfica's fourth goal in the 98th minute, sealing a resounding victory for the Portuguese in a crazy moment at the end of the match.

Real Madrid finished ninth with 15 points, and Benfica finished twenty-fourth with 9 points, so both went to the play-off knockout stage, in a night that will not be forgotten in the history of the Royal team.
