The rehabilitation work on the international swimming pool and the international conference hall in the International Youth City in “Ard Al-Muaskarat” has begun, with direct funding from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Youth and Sports Activities Support Fund, Dr. Hassan Barqou, who undertook to implement the project from his own money, as part of the Fund’s projects aimed at developing the infrastructure for youth and sports.

The project aims to rehabilitate two of the city’s most prominent facilities, the Sudan International Swimming Pool and the International Conference Hall, according to modern specifications, thereby enhancing their readiness to host youth and sports activities, conferences and various events, and restoring the city’s role as a national and regional center for serving the youth sector.

The project is part of a package of initiatives announced by Dr. Hassan Barqou, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Youth and Sports Activities Support Fund, during the press conference held in Khartoum earlier this month, during which the Fund’s work was launched in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Development work continues at the International Youth City, amid expectations that the projects being implemented will contribute to a qualitative leap in the facility, to become one of the most prominent sports and youth landmarks in the capital, Khartoum, which will support youth care programs and provide an integrated environment for hosting activities and events at the local and international levels.
