Hilal Al Sahel signs Khalid Bakheet

Al-Hilal Al-Sahel Club, nicknamed "The Sailors," has officially announced the signing of the esteemed national coach, Khaled Bakheet, to lead the team during the new season. His first task will be to lead the team in the African Confederation Cup.

Bakhit is considered one of the most successful national coaches in recent years, having previously served as an assistant coach at Al-Hilal, the "Masters of the Country," and led the team as head coach during the 2015 Elite League, winning the league title. He also led Al-Hilal to the Sudanese league title four years prior, following the resignation of Portuguese coach João Mota.

The coach gained extensive experience working with top foreign coaches at Al-Hilal and the national team, and also served as an assistant coach for the senior national team before the arrival of Ghanaian coach Kwesi Appiah. His last coaching position was with the national youth team, which he declined to complete due to reservations about the working methods and some of the player selections.

Bakhit faces a major challenge with Hilal Al Sahel, which is to build a new team capable of competing continentally, especially after the club gave up a number of its key players and moved to strengthen the ranks with players of a higher level, in addition to promoting young talents.

The club has finalized contracts with two Ghanaian professionals, and one or two foreign professionals are expected to arrive in the coming days to support the team before the start of the continental campaign.

The fans of "Al-Sahara" hope that time will give the new coach the opportunity to create a combination capable of bringing honor to Port Sudan and Sudanese football in the African arena.
