Adam Rijal appeals to the international community to provide urgent assistance to the displaced people fleeing El Fasher

June 8, 2024 (PEN) Adam Rijal, the official spokesman for the General Coordination for Displaced Persons and Refugees, expressed his deep concern about the deteriorating humanitarian situation of the displaced people fleeing the ongoing battles in the city of El Fasher and its neighboring villages. Men said that thousands of displaced people arrived in areas under the control of the Sudan Liberation Army Movement led by Abdel Wahid Nour in the Tawila region, yesterday, Friday, May 7, 2024.

Men reported that these displaced people have lost everything, including life necessities such as food, medicine, water and shelter materials, and are living in a state of psychological shock. He added that the General Coordination for Displaced Persons and Refugee Camps appeals to the United Nations, its agencies, humanitarian organizations working in the humanitarian field, and philanthropists to provide urgent assistance to these displaced people.
