Egyptian contacts to discuss developments in Sudan

October 27, 2025 (PEN) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, made phone calls yesterday evening, Sunday, with a number of his counterparts in France, Greece, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.

The calls addressed, among other topics, developments in Sudan, particularly in the city of El Fasher, which is witnessing widespread unrest and deteriorating humanitarian conditions.

During the calls, Minister Abdel-Ati stressed the importance of supporting regional and international efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Sudan and working towards a comprehensive political settlement that would end the suffering of civilians and restore stability to the country.

He also stressed the need to build on the outcomes of the recent Sudan Quartet meeting in Washington, ensuring coordination of international positions and redoubling humanitarian efforts in conflict-affected areas.
