The United Nations warns of the conditions of civilians in North Darfur.

April 23, 2025 (PEN) Clementine Nkweta Salami, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, warned of the catastrophic humanitarian situation facing civilians in North Darfur, stressing that hundreds of thousands of them are trapped in the midst of armed conflict.

In a tweet posted on the X platform, Nkwita Salami stressed that "no one should be forced to choose between hunger and bombing," calling for an immediate ceasefire to save lives, restore dignity, and bring hope to those affected.
