February 14, 2026 (PEN) A report published on Friday by the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights revealed that the Rapid Support Forces and allied militias committed widespread atrocities during their recent attack on El Fasher, resulting in the deaths of thousands of civilians and acts of violence, abduction, and recruitment of children.

The report documented the killing of more than 6,000 people in the first days of the attack, warning that these events amounted to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, called for respect for the arms embargo, support for mediation efforts to stop the fighting, and for reaching a path leading to inclusive civilian rule.
