United Nations: We hope that the international community will work to put an end to the suffering of the Sudanese people

January 24, 2024 (PEN) The official spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, explained that the crisis in Sudan has not been adequately reported, while the United Nations continues to make an effort to keep it in the news.

Stephane Dujarric stated in response to a journalist's question that the Human Rights Council established a committee to investigate the crimes committed, and appointed Ramtane Lamamra as personal envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

The official spokesman confirmed that Ramtane Lamamra will continue to focus his work on the political side of working with African institutions, whether it is the African Union or IGAD.

Stefan expressed the United Nations' hope that the international community and all countries that have influence on the parties to the conflict will work to put an end to the horrific suffering experienced by the Sudanese people.
