Arab Parliament calls on parties to the conflict to stop escalation and stop bloodshed

1 January 2024 (PEN) - The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, called on the parties to the conflict in Sudan to stop the escalation and spare the blood of the Sudanese people immediately.

He stressed the support of the Arab Parliament and its support for Sudan in maintaining security and stability and reaching a political settlement to the current crisis.

On the occasion of the anniversary of Sudan's independence, Al-Asoumi stressed that this occasion comes at a difficult and dangerous stage that Sudan is going through, calling for concerted Arab efforts to stop the Sudanese bloodshed and the success of the political process to ensure the realization of the hopes and aspirations of the Sudanese people.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament expressed his hope that the anniversary of independence will restore security, peace and stability to Sudan.
