Arab League condemns targeting of UAE ambassador's residence in Khartoum

September 30, 2024 (PEN) Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned the targeting of the residence of the UAE Ambassador in Khartoum, stressing his rejection of any violation of diplomatic buildings and mission headquarters in accordance with international agreements.

Aboul Gheit welcomed the statements issued by the Sudanese Armed Forces regarding their commitment to providing full protection for embassies and diplomatic headquarters.

He also reaffirmed the importance of coordinating international and regional efforts to stop the war in Sudan, and the need to preserve the unity and sovereignty of the country and the integrity of its territories and institutions.
