The Arab League condemns the Kalougui massacre and calls for independent investigations.

December 8, 2025 (PEN) The Arab League condemned on Sunday what it described as "heinous crimes" committed against civilians in the city of Kologi in South Kordofan State, following a drone strike that, according to its statement, resulted in the killing of about 80 civilians, most of whom were children, women, and workers in the education and health sectors.

The university said in its statement that what happened in Kologi comes after the "horrific violations" in the city of El Fasher, which recently fell into the hands of the "Rapid Support Forces," noting that the continuation of this pattern of attacks represents an "unprecedented disregard for the blood of civilians" and a flagrant violation of international law.

The Arab League held those responsible for the attack "fully legally and criminally responsible," stressing the need to open "independent and transparent investigations" that would lead to holding the perpetrators accountable and preventing them from escaping punishment.

The university warned that the continuation of this "dangerous deterioration" and the transformation of violence into a "systematic practice" pose a direct threat to the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan, and open the door to a "long cycle of chaos and armed violence" with dire consequences for Sudanese and regional security.

The Arab League explained that it continues to coordinate with its regional and international partners to support initiatives aimed at stopping the violence, restoring peace and stability in Sudan, and launching a coherent Sudanese political process that limits the rapidly deteriorating situation.
