German Foreign Ministry: We are shocked by reports of Rapid Support Forces massacres in El Fasher.

October 28, 2025 (PEN) Annika Klassen Idriss, spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry for the Middle East and North Africa, expressed shock at reports coming from El Fasher, noting that Rapid Support Forces fighters had penetrated deep into the city and committed indiscriminate killings of civilians.

Idris tweeted on her official X account that this violence must stop immediately, stressing that the Rapid Support Forces had previously pledged to protect civilians and would be held accountable for these actions.

The German official called on the Rapid Support Forces to refrain from any further escalation in El Fasher and to adhere to international humanitarian law. She emphasized that the atrocities witnessed in El Geneina and Zamzam must not be repeated, warning that any further violence would exacerbate humanitarian suffering and threaten regional stability.
