Sisi and Haftar: Sudan's stability is part of the national security of both countries

December 8, 2025 (PEN) Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, on Monday to discuss the latest developments in Libya and the region, according to a statement by the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency.

The spokesman explained that the meeting witnessed a discussion of developments in regional situations of common interest, particularly the Sudanese crisis, where it was noted that both sides agreed on the need to intensify international and regional efforts to reach a peaceful settlement that preserves Sudan’s stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The spokesman added that Sisi and Haftar stressed that the stability of Sudan is a key element of national security for both Egypt and Libya.
