Federal Health: Dengue fever cases were recorded in 8 states this year

September 28, 2023 (PEN) The Federal Ministry of Health said that cases of dengue fever were recorded in 8 states this year compared to 12 states the previous year.

The ministry added that the state most affected by the disease is Gedaref state due to the high density of mosquitoes and the lack of herd immunity.

The Ministry of Health stated that the total number of reported cases exceeded 1,000, while the number of deaths reached 11.

She said that citizens must prevent the breeding of mosquitoes in drinking water storage sites and follow the directives of the health promotion department in the states.
