World Health Organization delivers emergency medical supplies to Gezira State

June 17, 2024 (PEN) The World Health Organization (WHO) office in Sudan said that on June 13, the organization delivered 6.5 metric tons of life-saving medical supplies to Sudan's Gezira State. The organization stated that these supplies came in response to the recent mass casualties in Al Noura locality, and to meet the urgent health care needs of those affected following the horrific attacks on civilians.

The organization added that the shipment included emergency health supplies, including supplies for trauma and mass casualty management as well as emergency surgery. WHO has also stockpiled life-saving medicines and medical supplies for emergency preparedness in the rainy season, to reach internally displaced people and other vulnerable populations in Gezira State, Sudan, who are at risk of disease outbreaks.
