FAO announces the arrival of 40 tons of Indian peas to White Nile State

11 July 2024 (PEN) The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) announced that 40 metric tons of Indian pigeon peas have arrived in White Nile State and are ready for distribution, thanks to Irish support. The organization stated that this comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to confront the hunger crisis in Sudan.

FAO added: “FAO and its partners are working tirelessly to respond to the hunger crisis in Sudan by supporting local food production and availability. In times of crisis, every seed counts.”
