Cairo and Washington discuss ways to contain the Sudanese crisis.

September 22, 2025 (PEN) Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, met today, Monday, with Mosaad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs and Senior Advisor for African Affairs.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held within the framework of regular consultations on regional developments in light of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States.

The discussions focused on developments in Sudan, with Minister Abdel-Ati reaffirming Egypt's unwavering support for the Sudanese people.

Abdel-Ati stressed the importance of intensifying international and regional efforts to reach a settlement that ends the crisis and alleviates the worsening humanitarian suffering, while preserving Sudan's unity, security, sovereignty, and the integrity of its territory and national institutions.
