The United States applauds the Human Rights Council’s vote calling for the establishment of a fact-finding mission in Sudan

October 12, 2023 (pen) In a statement from the US Embassy in Khartoum, the United States praised the UN Human Rights Council’s vote to establish an international fact-finding mission in Sudan.

It also indicated that this praise is a necessary response to the humanitarian and human rights crisis in Sudan, as the United States co-sponsored this proposal.

The United States renewed its call on the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to stop fighting immediately, calling on them to respect human rights and allow humanitarian aid to reach those affected without obstacles.
