UNICEF warns: a large displacement of children and families due to violence in El Fasher

9 July 2024 (PEN) Children and families are fleeing brutal violence in El Fasher, Sudan, in large numbers, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said today. Many have been repeatedly displaced in search of safety, facing severe shortages of food, shelter and clean drinking water.

UNICEF indicated that there is an urgent need for a ceasefire now to protect these affected families and children.
