Britain and South Africa stress the need for international unity to resolve the Sudan crisis.

November 23, 2025 (pen) British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in Johannesburg the day before yesterday, where the meeting addressed important bilateral, regional and international issues.

Starmer said that Africa's hosting of the first G20 summit was a very significant moment, and expressed his gratitude to President Ramaphosa for the warm welcome and outstanding leadership during the summit.

Regarding international crises, the British Prime Minister reiterated the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

The two leaders also stressed the importance of ensuring a humanitarian truce in Sudan, and agreed on the need for international unity to advance efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire.
