UN warning: Malnutrition threatens millions of children in Sudan

April 2, 2025 (PEN) Clementine Nkweta Salami, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, warned that 3.2 million children in Sudan are at risk of malnutrition this year, describing the number as "shocking and unacceptable."

The UN official said in a tweet posted on the X platform that the humanitarian situation in Sudan requires an urgent response, stressing that this cannot be allowed to happen.

She stressed that the international community must take action to support humanitarian partners to save lives, while also providing urgent funding and immediate supplies to address the crisis.
