Tom Perillo condemns RSF abuses on Al Jazeera as 'horrific'

October 25, 2024 (PEN) The US Special Envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, confirmed in a tweet on the "X" platform that they are following with concern the violent attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces on civilians in Al-Jazeera State.

Perillo strongly condemned the killings and sexual violence committed by the RSF, describing them as “horrific,” adding that the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces consistently fail to meet their obligations under international law to protect civilians.

The US envoy stressed that the United States will continue to work against those responsible for these violations.
