Hamdok calls on the leadership of the Army and Rapid Support to expedite a direct and unconditional meeting between them

December 25, 2023 (PEN) The head of the Civilian Democratic Forces Coordination (Taqaddum), Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, renewed his call to the leadership of the Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to expedite a direct and unconditional meeting between them.

Dr. Hamdok stated that the meeting must aim to stop the war and engage in a comprehensive dialogue that ends and restores peace to the country and to the people who suffered and were displaced, as he described it.

The Takadum Coordination Committee demanded an end to the militaries based on ethnic, racial and regional grounds, which further ignite the war, demanding that hate speech be confronted with slogans of peace and slogans of revolution and nationalism.

There has been a violent conflict in Sudan since last April 15 between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, which led to a deterioration in the humanitarian situation.
