A UN expert visits Port Sudan to continue assessing the situation amid the conflict.

July 27, 2025 (PEN) The United Nations announced that the designated expert on human rights in Sudan, Radwan Nouicer, will visit Port Sudan from July 27 to 31, 2025, as part of his continued assessment of the human rights situation in the country against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict.

According to a statement issued by the international organization, Nouicer intends to hold meetings with local authorities, UN agencies, humanitarian partners, and representatives of civil society organizations. He will also engage directly with displaced communities to hear their testimonies about their current conditions.

The United Nations stated that the results of this visit will contribute to the preparation of the annual report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on Sudan, which is scheduled to be presented to the Human Rights Council at its sixty-first session in March 2026.
