Guterres stresses the importance of multilateral cooperation to stop the violence in Sudan.

May 17, 2025 (PEN) - United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres said in his address to the Arab League summit held in Baghdad on Saturday that renewed and coordinated multilateral cooperation is of paramount importance to help stop the horrific violence, famine, and mass displacement in Sudan.

Guterres expressed his deep gratitude to the League of Arab States and the African Union for the "excellent coordination meeting we were able to convene yesterday," commending the efforts of the League of Arab States to strengthen multilateral coordination.
