Qatar Charity launches urgent response to aid flood victims in Sudan

October 4, 2025 (Pen) Qatar Charity announced the launch of an urgent humanitarian response targeting thousands of families affected in Sudan by the torrential floods that swept through several Sudanese states last week, with support from charitable people in Qatar.

Qatar Charity stated in a statement today that their basic needs will be met and they will be helped to overcome the effects of the disaster, which has exacerbated their suffering due to the ongoing war, especially with the approach of autumn and the increasing risk of disease and epidemic outbreaks.

Qatar Charity intends to provide urgent relief assistance to more than 100,000 of the most vulnerable and affected people affected by the floods, which destroyed homes and farmland and left thousands of families homeless in four states: Khartoum, White Nile, Al-Jazirah, and the Nile River.

Qatar Charity's field teams in Sudan have begun monitoring and assessing food, shelter, and health needs, focusing on the most vulnerable groups, such as women, children, the elderly, and people with special needs. The aim is to absorb the initial shock these families experienced and provide them with the resources they need to survive.
