Qatar renews its position on the Sudanese crisis

February 4, 2024 (PEN) Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, the UN envoy to Sudan, where the two sides discussed the latest developments in the situation in Sudan, ways to stop the fighting, and ways to resolve differences by peaceful means.

Both Al-Khelaifi and Lamamra stressed the need to protect civilians and deliver humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people.

The Qatari Minister of State also reaffirmed the position of the State of Qatar calling for a permanent cessation of the military conflict, and engaging in negotiations in which all political forces participate, to reach a comprehensive agreement and sustainable peace that achieves the aspirations of the Sudanese people for stability, development and prosperity.
