Civil Resistance Committees condemn the 'genocide' in the village of Wad Al Noura

June 5, 2024 (P EN) The Civil Resistance Committees expressed their strong condemnation of what they described as the genocide witnessed by the village of Wad Al-Noura in Locality 24 Al-Qurashi in Al-Jazira State today. Initial reports indicated that the attack carried out by the Rapid Support Militia on the village resulted in the deaths of up to 100 people, while the actual number of martyrs and injured is still awaiting confirmation.

The committees said in their statement: “What is happening is a massacre and a full-fledged crime committed by the Janjaweed.” She noted that the attack on the village occurred twice, resulting in a large number of civilian casualties.

The Civilian Resistance Committees added that the armed forces are still stubborn inside Al-Manaqil locality, and have not intervened to protect civilians.
