Teachers Committee calls for creating conditions for holding secondary school certificate exams

September 30, 2024 (PEN) The Sudanese Teachers Committee has called for the need to prepare the conditions for holding the secondary school certificate exams for the 2023 batch, after the Sudanese Ministry of Education announced the exams date for December 28, 2024. This comes after the exams were postponed for more than a year and a half due to the war and conflicts taking place in the country.

The committee affirmed its commitment to the necessity of continuing the educational process and not stopping it, noting that the exams represent a necessary entitlement. It also stressed the importance of taking steps to ensure that the exams are held in a safe environment, calling for a ceasefire and the opening of safe corridors for students and teachers, to ensure their ability to take the exams in peace.

The committee stressed that these demands are the basis for the success of the exams, noting that postponing the exams affected a large number of students, and that the situation requires serious cooperation from everyone to achieve success in conducting them.
