Lamamra confirms the continuation of his efforts to bring peace to Sudan

February 19, 2024 (PEN) The Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Sudan, Ramtane Lamamra, said that he held meaningful consultations with senior officials of some Arab Gulf countries, and interacted with participants in the African Union Summit.

He stated that his efforts are being made within the framework of peacemaking in Sudan, as he confirmed that he is scheduled to hold a series of consultations in Moscow and Berlin.

Lamamra was appointed as an envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations late last year, to continue efforts to achieve peace and the political process after ending the mandate of the UNITAM mission.
