The Muslim Council of Elders condemns the targeting of a humanitarian convoy in North Darfur.

August 23, 2025 (PEN) The Muslim Council of Elders, headed by His Eminence, Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, strongly condemned the attack on a World Food Programme humanitarian convoy in North Darfur.

The Council affirmed its categorical rejection of such attacks, which constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

The Council also renewed its call for an immediate ceasefire, facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid, and fulfilling the Sudanese people's aspirations for peace and stability.
