The Director of the United States Agency for International Development calls on both parties to the conflict to end the obstruction of aid

July 2, 2024 (PEN) In a statement, USAID Administrator Samantha Power expressed deep concern about the worsening humanitarian crisis in Sudan. Power indicated that 3 out of every 4 children in Sudan suffer from hunger every day, noting that this rate has almost doubled since last December.

Power stressed that this suffering is completely unacceptable, stressing the importance of ending the obstruction of the provision of aid by the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces, so that humanitarian workers can reach the most vulnerable groups in the country.
