British official: The humanitarian situation in Sudan is "extremely dire".

British Minister for the Middle East, Hamish Faulkner (Middle East)

February 14, 2026 (PEN) British Minister for the Middle East, Hamish Faulkner, stated that the humanitarian situation in Sudan is "extremely dire," emphasizing that London is "doing everything possible to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those who need it."

Faulkner, in statements to Asharq Al-Awsat, recalled British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper’s description of what is happening in Sudan as an “international failure,” and said: “As long as this level of violence continues, this description is correct; it is a failure that constitutes a stain on all of our consciences.”
