Egypt condemns the attack on Zamzam camp, describing it as a serious violation of international humanitarian law.

April 13, 2025 (PEN) The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned, in an official statement today, the attacks that targeted the Zamzam camp for displaced persons in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry considered the attacks a serious violation of international humanitarian law, as they resulted in casualties among Sudanese civilians and a number of international relief organization personnel, according to the statement.

The ministry affirmed that Egypt "condemns these serious violations," and emphasized the need not to target humanitarian workers under any circumstances. It also affirmed its full solidarity with the Sudanese people and expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

Egypt also reiterated its "firm and supportive stance toward brotherly Sudan and its national institutions," according to the statement, stressing the importance of preserving the country's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
