Three civilians killed and another injured in a drone strike in North Kordofan

June 8, 2026 (PEN) Emergency Lawyers Group reported that a drone bombed two civilian vehicles in Adid Raha, Sodari locality, North Kordofan, on Saturday evening, killing three civilians and injuring another. The victims were on their way from Umm Badr to the Northern State to receive treatment.

The group confirmed that the two targeted vehicles were a Hyundai Tucson and a Toyota Box, both civilian vehicles with no military use, which negates any military justification for the targeting and confirms that it was intentional.

The group condemned the continued systematic targeting of civilians as an "open killing policy" that is repeated despite condemnations and warnings, holding international silence responsible for entrenching impunity.

It called for an immediate halt to the attacks and for ensuring the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law.

The group noted that the suffering has worsened due to the targeting of civilians while on the move, the deterioration of health conditions, and the destruction of infrastructure, forcing patients to travel long distances for treatment amid increasing risks.

The attack is part of a series of ongoing drone attacks on civilians, markets, villages and civilian vehicles in North Kordofan.

The group documented, over a period of 7 days, the killing of 33 civilians and the wounding of dozens as a result of these attacks.
