Due to financial arrears, the closure of the Corn Hospital threatens the lives of hundreds of cancer patients.

June 3, 2026 (PEN) The Media and Public Relations Department of Khartoum Oncology Hospital “Al-Dura” announced that the continued closure of the hospital due to financial arrears threatens the lives of hundreds of cancer patients, calling on the competent authorities to intervene urgently and reopen it.

The administration said the sanitation department closed the hospital due to financial dues, raising widespread concerns about the fate of patients who depend on its services daily.

The hospital administration warned that the disruption of chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions due to the closure will negatively affect the health of patients and endanger their lives.

The administration stressed that financial issues can be settled through negotiation or scheduling, but lives cannot be compensated or treatment delayed, calling for urgent solutions that ensure the continuation of service away from administrative and financial disputes.

The “Dura” Hospital is the main reference center for cancer treatment in Sudan, and receives hundreds of cases daily from various states, including children and critical cases that require continuous treatment, according to “Sudania 24”.
