Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty discussed developments in Sudan with Mosaad Boulos, stressing Egypt’s support for a ceasefire and a Sudanese political process that preserves the country’s unity and sovereignty.

The G7 and the European Union called for a halt to the escalation in El Obeid and the protection of civilians, and called for direct negotiations and the expansion of the arms embargo to include all of Sudan.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty discussed with Mosaad Boulos the latest developments in the Sudanese crisis, stressing Cairo’s support for the unity of Sudan, its institutions, and a Sudanese-owned political process.

Saudi Arabia and Canada renewed their support for Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called for an end to the crisis, the preservation of its national institutions, and the prevention of any practices that fuel the conflict.

Egypt warned against any attempts to divide Sudan, stressing that its unity is a red line, and called for a ceasefire and a Sudanese political solution that ends the war and preserves state institutions.

Saudi Arabia affirmed before the Security Council that the solution to the Sudan crisis must be political, through a Sudanese-Sudanese process, with a ceasefire and the preservation of the country’s unity and institutions.

Mosaad Boulos discussed with UN envoy Pekka Haavisto efforts to stop the war in Sudan, support a humanitarian truce, and a path to a permanent ceasefire, a comprehensive Sudanese dialogue, and a civilian transition.

Egypt and the European Union stressed their support for Sudanese institutions, a cessation of fighting, and the creation of a path leading to a civilian government, while ensuring the flow of aid to those affected.

Sudan welcomed the agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that it would contribute to calming regional tensions and enhancing security, stability, and the security of waterways.
