OCHA: 390,000 displaced people and community members in the SPLM areas in the northern sector are close to catastrophic levels

1 April 2024 (PEN) The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned of the dire humanitarian situation of 602,000 displaced people, as well as members of the host community in the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) areas of South Kordofan and Blue Nile.

The office indicated in a tweet on (X) that the humanitarian situation is approaching catastrophic levels of suffering, with about 390,000 displaced people facing the risk of severe suffering, unless urgent needs are met immediately through unconditional access.
