Saudi Arabia and Somalia stress the importance of ending the conflict in Sudan

April 7, 2024 (PEN) The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Republic of Somalia stressed the importance of the commitment of both parties to the conflict in Sudan to end the current conflict between them.

This came in a joint statement at the conclusion of the visit of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to Saudi Arabia and his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In their statement, the two sides welcomed the commitment reached between the two parties to the conflict in the Jeddah talks (2) on November 7, 2023, to take steps to facilitate an increase in humanitarian aid and implement confidence-building measures in preparation for reaching a permanent cessation of hostilities, which will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.
